JAMES E. DIGGLES (1944 - 2012)

James E. Diggles, 67, of Crandon, WI, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012. He was born Dec. 19, 1944, in Plainfield, WI, to Norris and Doris (Abbott) Diggles. Jim graduated from Plainfield High School, class of 1963.
He served his country from 1963-1967 in the U.S. Navy. He moved to Janesville in 1967 and began working at General Motors. Jim was united in marriage to Patricia Konkol on June 7, 1969.
After his retirement, with 30 years of service at General Motors, they moved to Crandon where they have resided for 14 years. Jim was an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting, camping and gardening. He was an avid runner and ran many marathons. One of his greatest accomplishments was running the Boston Marathon. He also loved to read and loved all sports. Jim was well known for being seen walking his faithful four-legged companion on Airport Road in Crandon.
Jim will be dearly missed by many, including his wife, of 43 years, Pat; his son, John Diggles; and daughter, Monica Diggles-Drozdowicz (Pete). He will also be missed by his grandchildren: Justin and Megan Diggles as well as Daniel, Sam, and Alex Drozdowicz; his nieces, Sherri-Ann Rosengren, Tracy Steiner, and Vicki Diggles; and great- nephew, Roarke Steiner; great-niece, Shyla Diggles; and dog, Oso. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Diggles.
A celebration of his life will be held on Oct. 6, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the CRANDON V.F.W.
